Description
This framework presents a three-stage design process comprising (1) Mechanics (i.e., Components, Controls, and Courses); (2) Dynamics (i.e., Context, Constraints, Choices, Chance, Consequences, Completion, Continuation, Competition, and Cooperation); and (3) Aesthetics (i.e., Challenge, Commendation, Confidence, Cognizance, Creativity, Contribution, Community, and Compliance).
The framework associates the sphere of Mechanics with “Embedded Narrative,” the sphere of Dynamics with “Emergent Narrative,” and the sphere of Aesthetics with “Interpreted Narrative.”
